Sessions that I’ve loved recently are personality portraits! Every child is unique and their personality is so special. As parents, we cherish the little quirks and big smiles that make them who they are. Personality portraits are designed to capture just that – the essence of your child at a specific moment of their life.
What are they?
Personality portraits are simple yet meaningful sessions focused on showcasing your child’s individuality. These aren’t just traditional posed portraits where kids are asked to sit still and smile perfectly (although we do try to get a few of these shots). Instead, these sessions allow your child to be themselves – whether they love to giggle, jump, do yoga, or show off their serious side. My goal is to highlight their true personality and preserve a moment in time that you can look back on for years to come.
When should you book a session?
Celebrate Milestones – Whether your little one is turning two, starting a new grade in school, or just lost their first tooth, a personality portrait session is a wonderful way to document these moments.
If you book for a first birthday, we can always add a fun cake smash to the end of your session to give your little the chance to dive into their own personal mini cake. It’s great to do this before their first birthday so you can have the portraits for their birthday and party.
Showcase Their Interests – Does your child have a favorite outfit, costume, or toy? These sessions can incorporate what they are obsessed with right now.
Boost Their Confidence – I strive to create a relaxed, fun environment where kids feel comfortable in front of the camera. When children are at ease, their confidence shines through, making for authentic, joyful portraits.
What to expect?
I host these sessions at my home studio, this helps them be more casual and low-pressure! During a personality portrait session, I guide and encourage kids to move, play, and express themselves naturally. I know kids have short attention spans, so we typically spend a few minutes greeting before jumping into the pictures. I will play their favorite songs to help them feel comfortable and let their personality shine. Feel free to bring any toys or snacks that they love to help break the ice too!
